Apple Cider Vinegar

ACV

But it has to be the one with the mother! you can buy the famous Braggs! or i believe trader joes now sells their own with the “mother” RAW

ACV has countless benefits, it is one of the most widely used and an effective and cost effective remedy for many ailments.

I usually have 2 tablespoons in water every morning and before dinner to help digest better and release all the enzymes, it also helps the liver.

ACV is great for internal issues (weight loss, loss of energy, candida and yeast issues, bacterial infections, immune booster, clear up blemishes, high in potassium, very alkalizing)

and external (toner for skin, use diluted on infections and acne, athletes foot, and nail fungus, also great for hair if put on before shower, gives hair a great shine, also will help in dandruff problems)

I highly recommend it, and have personally seen great results using it, i go through bottles fast! this is a must have household item, and a great investment!

it has also helped with my symptoms and acid problems.

Turkey Meatloaf SCD

Recently I purchased a 4 pack of Ground Turkey at Costco, and was wondering on what to make. I was watching a show and saw that they were having meatloaf and decided that I should make some also. Although i havent fully started the SCD diet (Breaking the Viscous Cycle) I thought id try something that was SCD legal and a Stage one.
They have a recipe for SCD meatloaf using Beef i believe so i made it using Turkey and altered the recipe a little.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package Ground Turkey (1-1.5 lbs)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 celery
  • 1-2 tomato
  • 1-2 cloves garlic
  • a little ginger
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • a little cinnamon
  • scd legal ketchup /tomato paste/sauce
  • 1 egg
  1. In a blender combine a tomato and egg blend a little
  2. add chopped carrots and celery, garlic, ginger, chopped onion
  3. dont blend too much than itll become liquid, if there is a lot of liquid strain it.
  4. mix with the ground turkey, add salt a little pepper , cinnamon, and anything you may wish to add spice wise.
  5. get a shallow pan lined with foil, grease a little, and form the meatloaf. or you can use a meatloaf pan
  6. spread the homemade scd ketchup or scd tomato paste along with some honey and i also added a little of liquid aminos.
  7. bake at 350 for around an hour. times may vary.

Integrative Medicine

I recently had an appointment with a new doctor that is Integrative Medicine, also affiliated with a UC school. he was really caring and wanted to know exactly what was going on with me, and to get to the bottom of things, instead of just prescribing a medicine. i also was interested in LDN (low Dose Naltrexone) and he prescribed that for me also, and recommended VSL # 3 (which is a really high dosage probiotic). he also ordered stool tests by Genova labs. also he recommended me to see a Gastroentologist at UCI specializing in Crohn’s disease whom i have an appointment with this thursday. so you know it only took 20 years to find a good doctor, and 10 to find a good doctor understanding of the disease in the way i want to approach it. i highly recommend integrative care centers, and taking such an approach to caring for your body and health.

Long Time No See!

Hi,

sorry i havent been able to update my blog due to so many things going on in my life.

I’m currently having a flare again, begining early summer. im assuming it was several factors from stress and finals and also i was busy and didnt have time to prepare meals and also ate out, i didnt have time to follow my strict diet, and also take all of my supplements. so anyways im battling again

currently:

I’m seeing a renown Naturopath who has me on:

L-glutamine, Rm-10, Chromium Picolinate, Curcumin, Tegreen97, Zyflamend, Kyogreen, Vitamins C,E,D3, Desiccated liver (iron),

and than My GI:

Asacol 12 400mg and tapering off of Prednisone 10mg currently.

he wanted me to start imuran/6mp which i was on for nearly 8 years. it caused probs to liver and has alot of side effects i dont want.

i researched alot into crohn’s along with all the books read, but i discovered LDN (low dose naltrexone) so im going to bring that up when i see him on thursday or else i will be seeing other doctors that are familiar with LDN.

SCD Breaking The Viscous Cycle

This book, has been recommended to me by various people, and its highly rated on Amazon.

there are plenty of resources, blogs, websites dedicated to Simple Carbohydrate Diet, so there’s alot of support

there are foods that are legal and illegal, and you should not have any gluten, dairy (except for some cheeses), and mucous forming vegetables, also the basics like preservatives and processed food.

i just got this book the other day, and its a pretty easy read.

i will keep you updated once i finish the book.

here’s the actual website of the book also:

Gluten-Free?!

So ive incorporated a Gluten-Free diet, i dont strictly abide by it, because it would be really hard for me to do that.

i gradually want to incorporate a Gluten-free lifestyle. I talked to my Gastroentologist, and he recommended getting a endoscopy to make sure its Celiac Disease, Crohn’s, god knows what. so in june i plan on getting that procedure done and finding out what’s actually going on. after eliminating gluten, and now when i do eat, i do get uncomfortable and body kinda rejects it, which leads me to believe i have some intolerance to gluten.

here is a really good article about Gluten-Free:
